Yesterday morning I spoke with Kate Riga, our reporter who covers all things Supreme Court and who specifically has covered the Court’s assault on voting rights. On Wednesday, as you know, the conservatives on the bench defanged the final piece of the Voting Rights Act that had survived their earlier rulings intact. We discuss the disingenuousness of the majority opinion, what it will mean for 2026, and the pathway forward: what it will take to recover from this decision, and whether Democrats are ready to do it.
